While the kids were off getting their faces painted, playing with giant bubbles, romping around in the moonbounce and riding in carriages pulled by miniature ponies, (very popular with the under ten crowd) the grownups enjoyed a little ice cold brew and listened to the bluegrass melodies of Richard Brady and his Shenandoah Travelers.
When done picking over the finds at the Inn’s annual scratch and dent sale, where slightly chipped fine china, robes, pots, books and whatever else has piled up over the last year in the back rooms of the five-star Inn can be had for a pittance, some of the grownups go off on a leisurely ride on Marriott’s trail horses.
As darkness fell, a few speeches were made and a few awards given. Tired children were packed and the family men and women made their way home. Then, it’s back to work. Until the Christmas party, that is.
