[ weeks Board of Supervisors meeting, Chappell said he would look into alternative metal building manufacturers, and at this school board meeting, he reported that he has done so, and with County Administrator John McCarthy, determined that it would not likely realize any savings.
At the end of Chappell s discussion of cost cutting, Piedmont representative and Vice Chair Aline Johnson declared. "I want the public to know we don't pull money out of a hat. We could have easily spent all that money" (rather than coming in under budget and returning $270,000). We spend our money wisely and for the best interest of our children, and I hope the public would feel that way as well." , In other matters, Chairman Wesley Mills reported on the ongoing planning for a new regional governor's school. Several counties are involved in making this a reality.
Young Grant, New Class
Trista Scheuerlein, head of the successful Farm-to-Table program, accompanied by Mitzi Young, reported to the board on her new exploratory horticultural class for sixth and seventh graders, begun thanks to a grant from the Young Farmland Preservation Foundation.
