The code, zoning and
covenant laws of our fine county are designed to protect the residents and home owners who live here. We all have to abide by them and we all should be thankful they exist. It is true the parcel of land in question would be worth more if someone could build a house on it.
Fortunately, due to our zoning laws and the wisdom of the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA' a home cannot be built on it. Let us not loose sight of the fact the land was a gift to the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company!AVFRC). . The AVFRC should be thankful for the donation and sell it for what it's worth before their legal fees surpass ‘ heir profits.
The attorney for the AVFRC did have at least one intelligent thing to say and was correct in his statement, "'This case is about people who don t want a house next door to them. ..”
