ine picnic gives everyone a chance to relax and meet their fellow hospitality travelers in a calmer, more easy going setting, with a little more time to talk. People meet the spouses and children they’ve only heard about, or haven’t seen since the Inn’s other big annual staff event - the Christmas party.

During the work day, O’Connell is dedicated to realizing his vision of a magical getaway, of flawless food and service in tantalizing surroundings, lb bring that about, he has to be the taskmaster, the judge and critic, who tells everyone what he wants and how he wants it done- and the one who tells you about it when you do it wrong.

But twice a year, at the summer picnic and the Christmas party, O’Connell and Lynch thank their family of staff for their hard work. Both of them mingle and chat with everyone, sharing stories and listening, on a purely social, work-free level. Everyone, from the bottom to the top gets to let their hair down a little and just enjoy each others company for a change.
