Construction update - possible delays? Chappell briefed the board on progress with elementary school roof and electrical work, saying that work was 70-75 percent complete, but noting that recent heavy rains have resulted in a second bout of flooding within the school. There was some minor damage, and repair is already underway. With the clock ticking before the scheduled beginning of the school year, this minor delay was a concern for Chappell and the board. Barring any untoward events, Chappell said construction should end in time for - Meetings & Notices • County Planning Commission meeting cancelled for August 17. • On Monday, August 22 the Town of Washington will hold a joint meeting of the Planning Commission and the Town Council at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall on Gay Street to review the final draft of the Comprehensive Plan. The public is encouraged to attend.
