“I’m glad to have the chance to serve the people of the Piedmont District," said Taylor after being appointed. Taylor will sit as Piedmont Supervisor until November, when he will run for the seat in a special election. Taylor is a lifelong Rappahannock resident who owns a cattle farm and a construction business, and serves on the board of the Rappahannock National Bank. He was chosen over fellow applicants Dr. Monira Rifaat and Kim Estes Baader.
On the morning of May 1, applicants were each privately interviewed by the board, and Taylor was the board’s unanimous choice at their afternoon meeting.
