Warrenton
crisis center
The Warrenton-based SAWI Crisis Center was founded in 1999 to meet the needs of sex abuse victims. It now serves people in Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison, Orange and Green counties.
Executive director Beth Wayland Tierney said, “We do some intervention. We have a hot line staffed by dedicated volunteers where we provide information for victims. About 40 percent of the cases we handle involve kids. About 25 percent of them involve adults who were molested as kids.”
