VDOT update
Virginia Department of Transportation Residency Administrator David Cubbage informed the BOS about planned VDOT maintenance of a bridge on Rt 621, Ludasill Mill Road. The work will include a 60-day road closure. In other bridge news, according to Cubbage VDOT completed work on Tapp’s Ford Bridge 24 days early and under budget. Cubbage also asked the BOS to think about the future of the steel girder bridge in Sperryville that crosses Route 522, which is due for replacement. “We want to focus on aesthetics real early in the process.,” said Cubbage.
Cubbage also introduced the BOS to Rappahannock’s new Area Headquarters Superintendent Walter “Richie” Lillard, recently hired after a long search. Lillard has over 13 years experience with VDOT.
