wonted tirelessly ior tne Bronx Chapter of the New York Urban League as a 40plus year member of its Advisory Board, the Bronx Council on the Arts, the Coalition of 100 Black Women (founding member), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., (founding member, North Manhattan Alumnae Chapter), The Vivants, The Trio, Girlfriends, and a host of other civic activities and social organizations.
During the 1970s and 80s she authored columns for two weekly newspapers: the Westchester County Press and The Daily Challenge.
A lifelong domestic and international traveler, she visited Egypt, Senegal, France, Italy and
Monte Carlo. A lover of the fine arts, Dolores herself painted, sketched and curated art works.
She is the beloved mother of two devoted adult children, Dale R. Wright, Jr., Project Leader of an Information Technology Unit, and Kimberly Wright, a social worker and management consultant.
She is also survived by a number of loving relatives and friends, including her former husband, Dale R. Wright, Sr., generations of nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 5, at 6:45 p.m. at Benta’s Funeral Home, 630 Saint Nicholas Avenue, New York, NY. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. preceding the service.
