The Lady Panthers also should enjoy a good-sized crowd, as there will be a dedication of the new scoreboards from the Lions Club. The home field advantage could be a key to the outcome of the game.
Although Rappahannock still has two weeks left in the regular district season, a win over Manassas Park could help the Lady Panthers finish in the top two in the district. They most likely would see George Mason in the opening game of the tournament. If they take third place, their opening round opponent could be either Strasburg or Clarke County.
In a recent game at Clarke County, Rappahannock committed three errors in the bottom of the sixth which led to a four-run rally and a 6-4 Clarke win.
“We had a lead, and then let them come back to beat us on errors,” Burke said. “That one inning just killed us.”
Rappahannock rebounded, however, Friday night in scoring a 7-4 win over Madison County. The Lady Panthers scored all of their runs in the top of the sixth, as they erased a 1-0 deficit.
Tupper led the Rappahannock attack with two hits, including a double, and three RBI. Jessica Lee had a hit and two RBI. Sarah Smoot also had a base hit and an RBI.
