For the past two generations,
breast cancer has been a prominent subject in the lives o: American women. The disease has touched many grandmothers, mothers, and daughters during the past 40 years. In 2006, women are more aware ol breast cancer than ever before.
Despite this powerful knowledge, more than 6,080 women in Virginia will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and more than 1,170 will die from breast cancer. On Mother’s Day, we must take a moment to remember the grandmothers, mothers, and daughters who have died of breast cancer, and also celebrate the lives of so many women who have survived this disease.
