Theatre at Little Washington for a good cause. Scrabble School, as most know, is the formerly segregated two-room schoolhouse that from the 1920s to 1967 educated black children in the county. Most of the labor, the site, and over half of the construction funds were donated by the local African-American community. But the seed money to build the school was contributed by The Rosenwald Foundation as part of a program to help educate black children in the United States before integration.
