Shiloh Baptist Church was organized July 27, 1873 in Woodville, Rappahannock County, Virginia.

Land was purchased in 1874 from Andrew Botts. Construction began immediately upon recording the deed. Prior to completing the church facility, worship was held in a private building.

The church is built on a hill above Woodville with a beautiful view of the mountains.

Many improvements have been made to the original one room building. A pulpit and space for a choir were added to the rear of the building, with later, a pastor’s study and choir room on either side. A vestibule and steeple were added to the front, with lavatories off the sides. A fellowship room containing a kitchen was added, as were two Sunday School rooms.

The first church Bible was purchased in 1874 and continued in use until 1894, a period of 20 years. The initial Bible was replaced in 1894 and remained in use until 1975, a period of more than 80 years. This Bible was replaced by a donation of Mrs. Minnie Brokenburr in March 1975 the present Bible in use in the pulpit today.
