grandparents visited WCDS for “Grandparents Day,” enjoying a breakfast buffet in the library, a brief presentation and question and answer period led by Head of School Kathleen Grove. Visitors were also treated to a tour of the school, “official photos” taken with grandchildren, visits to classrooms, and participation in the regular Wednesday Assembly, which included special presentations by several grades. The second grade students presented an acrostic of what they liked about GRANDPARENTS: “G” is good to me, “R” is reads to me,..., followed by the recitation of the fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper. The third grade class followed with a choral reading of a poem about grandparents, and seventh grade student John Holsinger recited the poem,“0 Captain, My Captain,” which had been memorized by the entire seventh grade. Mrs. Grove also distributed letters recently received from the Westhill students who last month visited WCDS from Mexico City; presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the Red Cross to the Student Government for their hurricane
