Fisher says the federal government wouldn’t bring him their mail if he weren’t Washington treasurer, cumptroher, water department general manager, director of publie works, vicemayor. even at times town police chief and Washington Chamber of Commerce president.
Fisher likes filling all these slots and says he’ll take another stab at it this year because “1 enjoy serving the town.”
Now in his third term as town treasurer, Fisher narrowly lost an earlier attempt at councilman. He says he was pleased at the margin because he had just moved to Washington at the time and didn’t know as many people as he does now. The Fishers moved to Rappahannock from Vienna in 1974. A chemist, Fisher is a lab administrator in Potomac. Md.
