There’s room in the garden for two. That’s what Eva Stephenson believes and she’s proving it with her “Cuddly Creations,” the Rappahannock version of the popular “Cabbage Patch” doll.
“My sister in Tennessee gave me the inspiration. She kept insisting that I could make dolls just as cute as the ones everybody across the country was buying," she said.
Eva looked everywhere trying to find a pattern so she could try. And again her sister was the key, sending a “Cabbage Patch” book. “I didn’t really know until then just what I was trying to make,” Eva said, admitting that she was one of the few people in the country who missed out on the latest baby doll fad.
She’s quick to point out that her dolls are not copies of those from the cabbage patch; they’re from another part of the garden altogether. “I combined ideas from three different patterns so actually, they’re made from my pattern,” Eva emphasized. She picked the name, “Cuddly Creations,” because later she plans to incorporate stuffed animals into the line of hugables. “This would cover both
