Benefit Cake Walk

The Senior Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Amissville United Methodist Church will sponsor a Cake Walk on Friday, Feb. 25, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the fellowship hall of the church. Everyone invited.

RAAC Concert Set

The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will sponsor a recorder, flute and guitar concert on March 10 at 5 p.m. at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington. Wine and cheese will be served.

Admission is $3 for RAAC members, $4 for the general public.

Learn To Stir Fry

The Rappahannock Extension Office is sponsoring a wok and stir-fry cooking class scheduled for March 1, 7-9 p.m., at the courthouse. The class will include demonstrations, sharing session and taste testing.

Cost will be $3 to cover ingredients for the recipes. Participants must pre-register at the Extension Office in Washington, 675-3619, by noon on February 28. The class will be cancelled if there aren’t at least 10 signed up by that time.

Benefit Dinner Planned

The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will be serving a dinner on Saturday, March 10 at the fire hall for the benefit of the fire department. Proceeds will be used to help purchase beepers for the new dispatch system.

The menu consists of barbecue spare ribs, meat loaf, sauerkraut, green beans, com, macaroni salad, congealed salads, desserts, rolls, butter, coffee and tea. Prices are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

Serving time will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with carryout orders from 4:30 to 5:15 only.

Tickets may be purchased from members of the auxiliary or fire department and at the door.
