Washington merchant C. E. “Skippy” Giles, owner and manager of the Washington Cash Store and an eight year veteran of the council, has also decided to pass up the race this term. “I don’t have time for it anymore,” he explained.
According to clerk of the court Diane Bruce, no candidates have filed with her office to date. Deadline foi completing a statement ol eligibility and declaration ol intention to run is March 6. Town elections are set for May 1.
Qualifications are few, Candidates must have beer a resident of the state of Vir ginia for at least a year, must be registered to vote ir the town and must be a resident of the town as of filing date.
