Remember Montague
The board also unanimously adopted a resolution to be sent to the family of former School Board Chairman E. N. Montague, who died on January 24.
“He was a delight to have on the board,” said Massie, “very wise in his counsel.” Montague was “always willing to go the extra step for the children” she said. Montague was appointed to the board in the summer of 1970, becoming vice chairman and the regional representative to the Piedmont Technical Education Center in 1973. In 1975, he was chosen School Board Chairman, serving in that capacity for two years.
The resolution of appreciation noted Montague’s high esteem in the community and his part in the success of Piedmont as well as his service to Rappahannock schools and “abiding com(Continued
