Substitute Herbs

Use herbs to limit salt in your diet. It is hard not to pick up the salt shaker but herbs and herb combinations can effectively season foods without the addition of salt. Basil, parsley, English thyme, marjoram and summer savory are good for flavoring meats. Tarragon and rosemary are good for poultry, and rosemary is good with lamb. So, cut out the salt and experiment with herbs to find the flavorfs) you like best.

Washer Tips

Surprisingly enough, you can save energy and money when buying an automatic clothes washer. Some tips are: 1) look for controls that let you match the amount of water to the size of the wash load 2) warm and cold options are important and 3) suds saver allows you to reuse wash water. Consider a washer with a lower operating cost. The price may be higher, but lower utility bills will pay back the extra money.
