While sanctioned hunt meetings have become more professional and richer - in both dollars and participants - the all important nursery of the sport, pointto-point meetings are now underway. In the Delaware Valley, racing will commence with the Foxhall Team Trophy being run Sunday, March 18, in the Cheshire hunting country near Unionville. Pa., Andrews Bridge Point-to-Point is scheduled for March 24, the Cheshire Point-toPoint March 31, Brandywine April 7 and Winterthur May 6.
The Foxcatcher Point-toPoint, offering the only racing over brush in the Deleware Valley series, will not take place this year due to course renovations at Fair Hill, Md. The continuation of the Foxcatcher is on schedule for 1985.
The National Steeplechase and Hunt Association mem. ber^ip drive is underway. With 11 sanctioned race meetings in Virginia alone, the savings as an NSHA member are worthy of consideration. The $50 annual dues provide free admission to all NSHA sanctioned race meetings for each member and his guest. Distinctive pins identify the wearer as a supporter of steeplechasing in this country on a wide national level.
