Konick told the planners that he wasn’t sure whether state law permits variances to subdivision ordinances as it does for zoning ordinances. But if subdivision variances or exceptions are allowed, then the same requirements for public notice called for with zoning variances should apply, said Konick, adding that neighboring landowners present at the Planning Commission s meeting were there only because they’d heard of Mrs. Stuart’s proposal through the grapevine.
