SUfrWrtUr The Northern Virginia 4H Cotter just acroes Cheater Gap in Warren County offers youngsters from Rappahannock and throughout the area a wide range of opportunities for fun, recreation and learning. And it’s a case of what’s already good getting better. 4-H and home demonstration agent Florence Vickers reports that expansion projects at the Harmony Hollow site are continuing. Last week, the Flint Hill Homemakers Club, represented by Miss Elsie Dodson, contributed $100 toward the cost of one of those projects, a new cabin. The cabin will sleep 104 in rooms, each with its own bathroom, for four and six uvermgnt campers. A central room upstairs dominated by a huge stone fireplace will provide meeting space. What youth group is open to both boys and girls? And, it’s open to ages 9 to 19. And, it doesn’t cost anything to join. And there aren’t any uniforms to buy. And kids can do things at their own speed. And the things they can do include cooking, automobile maintenance, sewing, bicycle safety, dog care and training, photography, public speaking, gardening, crafts, hiking, embryology, electric energy, petroleum power, agriculture, horseback riding, citizenship, working with senior citizens, rocketry, international exchanges, and lots more.

On Dean’s List
Two local students, both graduates of Rappahannock County High School, have been named to the dean’s list at Bridgewater College for the winter term.
Donald M. Dougherty, a junior majoring in psychology, and Sharon Kay Settle, a junior majoring in music, both attained a 3.2 or better quality point average of a possible 4.0.
