Mildred Hofer

Mildred Saunders Hofer, 81, a Washington area resident for 66 years and prominent in genealogical circles, died on Monday, March 5,1984, at her home in McLean.
She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. With her mother and sister, she moved to Washington where she graduated from McKinley High School in the Class of 1923.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and the National Society Magna Charts Dames. She was also active in the Humane Society of the U. S. and McLean Republican Women’s Club.
Among her genealogical publications is “1850 Census of Rappahannock County, Va.” (where she maintained a summer home), this being a 144-page compilation from the records of the National Archives.
Survivors include her husband Carl, who lives in the McLean home and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Brooks Mulford, who also lives in McLean.
