Retired Mill Wright Foreman
Benjamin Raymond Bruce, 74, of Tampa, Florida, died Friday, March 2,1964, in Tampa.
Mr. Bruce was born in Rappahannock County on April 12, 1909, son of the late Silas and Annie Taylor Bruce. He was a retired mill wright foreman with the FMC Corporation in Front Royal after 38 years of service. A veteran of World War II, he served with the Coast Guard in the Pacific. He was a member of Sperryville United Methodist Church, was past master of the Washington Masonic Lodge, AF & AM, No. 78, and was a member of the Hiram Royal Arch Chapter 46 of Front Royal. He moved to Florida in 1973.
Surviving are his wile, Daisy Bruce; a sister, Mrs. Nina B. Brown of Sperryville and a brother, Robert Brace of Front Royal.
Arrangements were handled by the National Cremation Society.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Will Pendleton
County Native
Will Warfield Pendleton, 66, of Jeffersonton, died Sunday, March 4,1964, at his residence. He was a native of Rappahannock County.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kate Pendleton of Amissville; three daughters, Evelyn Timbers of Herndon, Katie Pendleton and Virgie Pendleton, both of Reston; seven sons, James Pendleton, Ervin Pendleton, Randall Pendleton, Jerry Pendleton, Eugene Pendleton, Melvin Pendleton and Gregory Pendleton, all of Amissville and fourteen grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Willie Pendleton of Washington, D. C. and Robert Pendleton of Alexandria and two sisters, Katie Ferguson of Arlington and Genevieve Johnson of Washington, D. C.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday from the Bethel Baptist Church in Amissville by the Rev. Carter Allsberry. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The Marshall Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
