To the editor
Rappahannock Citizens for Quality Education support many of the proposed expenditures in the school budget presented by Superintendent Robert Estabrook. Foremost among these is the index salary scale for the teachers and the three percent increase to the base salary. We also support the increased pay for teachers’ extra-duty assignments. We are very pleased to see the proposal for the addition of a math teacher at the high school.
But the proposed budget does not go far enough. We believe the following additional expenditures are needed to provide adequate facilities and quality education for Rappahannock’s children:
