Edmund Addison Hitt, 86, of Harrisonburg, died on Tuesday, Maid) 6, 1984, at Rockingham Manorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Turner Harrison and Annie Louise Rollins Hitt. His wife was the late Lillian Smith Hitt
Mr. Hitt was a salesman for Allegheny Freight Lines for a number of years. He was a member of Fairfax Lodge No. 43, A.F.4 A.M., in Culpeper.
He is survived by a son, Edmund A. Hitt Jr. of Harrisonburg; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Eisenman of Amissville; a brother, Wilson W. Hitt of Knoxville, Md. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Paul Marine. Burial was in the Hitt family cemetery at Amissville.
