RICHMOND — After a two-day extension, the 1964 General Assembly adjourned at 2 p.m. Monday, completing work on the state’s two-year budget, approving a high-technology center for Northern Virginia, and enacting new antidrunken driving laws.

The 140 legialatora alec modified the new state Intermediate Court of Appeals, approved a new holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., and established a new highway dDnstruction district in Iforthern Virginia.

Going down to defeat this year woe the bottle bill, proposed increases in the state sales tax, and a constitutional amendment limiting state spending.
