Thiel of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was traveling sooth an Route SI en route to his brother's residence in Madison County when his vehicle broke down. Thiel went to Fletcher’s house seeking help but no one was home, the trooper ssid. "He noticed the keys in the 1978 Pontiac and took the vehicle," Newtin said, adding that Thiel later abandoned the ear in a wooded area and walked the rest of the way to his brother’s. The two came beck for Thiel’s car and were stopped about a mile north of Etlan towing the ear, Newhnaaid.
According to the trooper, Thiel admitted taking Fletcher’s automobile and directed trooper Chock Moore and himself to where the Pontiac had been abandoned on Route 631 on Moonshine Mountain in Madison.
