A thorough propaganda job was done before the supervisors’ meeting last week. The whole community had been told that Jim and Catherine Paul were trying to close the right-of-way to the ballfields. That is not true. We had asked that the lane not be used as a permanent right-of-way. We never t^ied to close the ballfields.
I went to Mrs. Stuart personally in September and explained to her how we felt we had lost much of our privacy during the summer and fell months. (When deeded to the Ruritans it will be used the year around.) We asked her to give a right-ofway to land she was planning to donate to the Ruritans. We met again with her and Mrs. Luke in November. The promises made that day were not kept. Especially the <me to send us a copy of the proposal when it was drawn up. We never received anything.
We asked for two things:
1. She dondte a right-ofway from Rt. 211 to the property she was donating to the Ruritans, so the lane could revert back to a residential and farm lane as it had beta before the ball
