It goes without saying, I might add, that the target of this shameless deprecation was not from one of “the” Rappahannock County families, not particularly well connected, not even a native son of Rappahannock, and not somebody who is particularly admired or even liked except by the few of us whir appreciate talent and ability in a fellow regardless of his religion, race, or the fact that he was born in Philadelphia. This is but another in a long line of stories which are the product of your double standards and “selective reporting” which have regrethilly become commonplace in the Rappahannock News.
I refer, of course, to the anonymously written and untitled piece which appeared on the editorial page of the March 8, 1984 edition. I can’t say I blame the author of this shoddy work for not including her byline, as this would have risked being
