“Have you always wanted to be a nurse when you grow up? Do other health careers interest you?” Those are questions being asked of high school students by the staff of Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
The Culpeper Memorial Hospital Auxiliary wants to give students 14 years and older a chance to find out more about hospital occupations. An expanded junior auxilian program at CMH offers young people an opportunity to work alongside medical professionals this summer.
“This valuable learning experience will give teenagers insight into health careers that has not been possible in Culpeper before,” said Edith Witherspoon, Auxiliary director of volunteers.
“This direct experience working within the hospital setting will open new horizons to students, and we hope it will encourage them to pursue a vocation in the health field,” said Toni Harrington, CMH vice president of nursing services.
