DON’T GET LEFT BEHIND
If you were intent on buying a home a few years ago but didn’t financially qualify for a loan, don’t assume that your chances of becoming a homeowner are over. There are several variables that can change so that you may now qualify for that loan. Your income could have risen (which it probably has); interest rates could have dropped (which they did); or money could become more available 1 (which it has).
With these elements in place, a window of opportunity has opened to many buyers who previously could not qualify for a mortgage. How long will this window remain open? We hope for a long time, but predicting interest rates is risky business.
Owning your own home is the best investment you can make for the forseeable future. You may have been turned down when rates were higher— a lot of people were. However, your chances of getting financing are much improved in today’s market. Buy now and join the parade. If you wait, you gamble.
