people in the area was also most comforting and provided a needed lift to all of the law enforcement personnel throughout the long hours. The members of the Sperryville Rescue Squad were ever present with pots of fresh coffee at all hours of the day and night and were most gracious in their continuous attention to our needs. The members of the rescue squad graciously prepared hundreds of sandwiches for all those involved.
A particular heartfelt thanks to the merchants in the area who unselfishly provided cold cuts, bread, condiments, and soft drinks, often staying open after their normal business hours to provide food and supplies for the operation. It Is heartwarming to know that there exist people like these who are unselfishly willing to reach out and provide support when necessary in situations of this nature.
Please convey my thanks to the people of Rappahannock County for their support. As you know, we in law enforcement can only be successful as long as we have that kind of support.
