Fauquier Hospital nursing employees were formally recognized for their outstanding service at a reception held at the hospital Friday, May 6, which was recognized across the nation as National Nurses Day.
At the reception, awards were presented to the nursing personnel who best represented the philosophy of caring and empathy that Fauquier Hospital is proud to offer.
A special award, the Ruth Kruzie Excellence in Nursing Award, was presented at the reception. Its purpose is to honor an employee of the nursing department who demonstrated outstanding professionalism in,the areas of quality of patient carle, empathy, guest relations, and p ro fe^sionalself- improvement.
The award was named after the
late Ruth Kruzi^, RN, who had been in the Fauquie/Hospital Emergency Department anq^ continually demonstrated outstandingrprofel&ionalism in all these areas. The medical staff of Fauquier HospitaKggn^rously donated $250 to be given to the recipient of the award, w'ho was selected by her peers.
