The General Educational Development (GED) Test for those persons who were once enrolled in school but who did not complete graduation requirements, will be given on June 11. Testing will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. The test will be given in the Warren County Vocational Center in Front Royal.
The tests, administered and supervised by the Adult Education Service of the Department of Education, are designed to measure the educational development of individuals who left school before graduation.
The battery of five tests in English Composition, Social Studies, Natural Science, Literature and Mathematics is designed to measure the major skills that result from a four-year high school curriculum.
By achieving satisfactory scores on GED tests adults may earn a high school equivalency certificate, qualify for admission to college or advanced educational opportunities, meet educational requirements for employment or promotion, and satisfy educational qualifications for induction in the United States Armed Forces.
