Bob Hoskins won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for his powerful portrayal of a small time hood caught up in a web of violence and love. Recently released from prison, Hoskins gets a job chauffeuring a beautiful black prostitute from trick to trick. As his contempt turns to love, Hoskins agrees to search for her friend, a young hooker in trouble. His search takes him through the night world of London’s sex clubs and peep shows, bringing him face to face with the ultimate in brutality and betrayal.
