Are you powerless in your Christian ■ walk and you don’t have the boldness or ' ability to be an effective witness of the gos- i pel of Jesus Christ? Then what you need, in ■ fact what all believers need is to be filled ! with the Holy Spirit All Christians have i been bom of the Spirit, as Romans 8:9 says. ■ we have the Spin! of Christ, but that is not { the baptizm of the Holy Spirit Jesus said in i ■ Luke 24:29 “And behold. I send the prom- ■ ise of my Father upon you. but tarry ye in j the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued i with power from on high “ !
When you are filled with the Spirit, there j comes in you a boldness and a new found j source of power to preach the gospel Jesus • said in Acts 1:8. “but ye shall receive t power, that word power means ability, j strength and might, after that the Holy Ghost ■ is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses j unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, i and in Samana. and unto the uttermost part • of the earth." If you read the rest of the ’ book ot Acts, you see the disciples, preach- i ing with great boldness, you see them heal- ■ ing the sick and raising the dead, casting out ' devils, and so on. How could they do all of i these great things'* It was because they were ■ filled with the Holy Ghost, and had the I power of the Spirit in their lives. I encourage i you to be filled with the Holy Spirit, if you ! desire to be a powerful witness and an effec- ! tive worker for the kingdom of God, being , filled with the Spin! is a must for effective ■ witnessing \
Remember Jesus said, be endued with | power before you go to be a witness unto Him If you are a Christian, but you have ! never been filled with the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, like the disciples were in Acts 2:4, then I extend an invitation to you to come to one of our church services and we will pray for you, that you might receive the Holy Ghost 1 Then you will have the power you need to be an effective witness of the gospel. Jude 20 says "but ye beloved, building up yourselves on your most Holy Faith, prating in die Holy Ghost."
