The Piedmont Board of Realtors serves four counties—Rappahannock, Culpeper. Madison and Orange—and has more than 200 members. During the month of May, the area’s realtors will demonstrate their concern for Virginia's children specifically, and for the physical, social and economic well-being of all Virginians, according to a board ispokesman.
On the local level, realtors are encouraged to conduct fund-raising ■activities to assist a wide variety of human service programs throughout the Commonwealth, the spokesman added.
Last year, the Piedmont Board raised more than $1,000 for SCAN <Stop Child Abuse Now), a statewide program.
This year, the focus will be local. On May 20, Realtor Community Service Day, a check will be presented to the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board. The board serv es the five counties of Planning District 9, providing programs for the elderly, substance and alcohol abusers, the mentally retarded and learning disabled, and other residents of the area.
