Duties: Supervises employees in the maintenance and construction (state force) of highway projects. Determines work methods; establishes priorities; schedules, assigns, and inspects work. Inspects roads and bridges to determine need for repairs. Performs employee management functions. Assists residency maintenance supervisor in preparation of area maintenance plan. Issues single dwelling entrance permits. Obtains right of way for new road projects. Trains and instructs others. Qualifications: Knowledge of: highway construction and maintenance equipment, materials, and methods; supervisory principles and techniques. Ability to: direct the work of

Graduation from high school and experience related to highway construction and maintenance; or training, education, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties. Valid Virginia Operator’s license and safety shoes are required.
