Whether Rappahannock’s School Board adopts the "standards of learning ” developed by the state or devises a local program, it must:
• Establish a Community Involvement Team made up of school administrators, teachers, a School Board member, parents, clergy, a medical professional, and others in the community.
• Select teachers to attend a training program to be offered this summer—and paid for — by the State Department of Education. Family life education leaders are to be appointed for each grade level to work with the Community Involvement Team and assist in training other teachers.
• Establish an “opt-out” procedure for parents or guardians who want their children excused from all or part of the program.
