Vacation certificates, travel packages and gift vacations are frequently offered by resort promoters to boost sales and provide consumers with inexpensive opportunities to visit resorts they otherwise might not have been able to afford. The goal of the offer is to sell a specific product or service, not to give you a good deal.
A survey by the Better Business Bureau showed that there have been many consumer complaints about vacation certificate offers. Some consumers complained they did not receive the offered vacation certificates. Others complained the offer was misrepresented, incomplete or often attached to fine print technicalities.
