BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Public notice is hereby given that the Board of Equalization for Rappahannock County will meet on the day* (and times) listed below for the purpose of equalizing real estate assessments, and for the purpose of hearing complaints of inequalities, including errors in acreage. ALL MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE COURTHOUSE Upon hearing such complaints, either oral or written, the board will give consideration to same, AND EITHER INCREASE DECREASE, OR AFFIRM SUCH ASSESSMENTS. Before a change can be granted, the taxpayer must overcome a dear presumption inr favor of the assessment. The burden is upon the taxpayer to prove that the property is not uniform with other similar properties or prove that the property is assessed in excess of its "fair market value”.
