Sandra Cartwright-Brown and Phil Irwin, two operators of bed and breakfast businesses in the county, objected to the language of the petition. The objections “are totally irrelevant and misrepresent the highest form of hospitality available in the South,” Mr. Irwin said.
He said that he did not think it wise to issue a permit for a bed and breakfast to someone with a twoyear lease. He added that the definition of a bed and breakfast in the local guild said it was owner-occupied.
