with its relatively miniscule budget, over an issue of taste, is just plain silly.

Aileen was

slandered

To the Editor:

Having just read the Day by Day column that was written by Walter Day and printed in last week’s paper, I thought I’d write a letter so that I may voice my opinion about his column.

Having been a proud employee of Aileen Inc. for 18 years, I do not appreciate the company being slandered the way that Mr. Day did in his column.

Mr. Day should not make accusations unless he is positive of the facts. As for his opinion of letting the employees out 10 minutes early every month, it has been done several times in the past.

I understand Mr. Day’s concern about littering, however, if we all do our part in cleaning up the environment instead of throwing around accusations, America would be a much better place for us to live. However, I do feel that Mr. Day owes the employees of the Aileen Plant an apology.

Resents

litter charge

To the Editor:

In response to the column written by Walter Day about the employees at the Aileen Plant in Flint Hill:

I am one of the few men who work at the Flint Hill plant. I have been employed by Aileen for 20 years. I like to think that I take pride in my job, the building and the surrounding grounds.

I resent being called a litterer and an imbiber. I have never thrown litter on the highway, in front of the Aileen Plant or elsewhere. As an employee at the Aileen Plant, I have many times been sent out by the manager to pick up trash along side the road in front of the plant.

I do not drink or have I ever drank beer or any other alcoholic beverage. I suggest Mr. Day get his facts straight before writing accusations about people he never sees or talk8to.
