Data obtained through the public hearings held in each of Virginia’s nine transportation districts is used to update and prepare the annual six-year improvement program used by the Commonwealth Transportation Board.
The improvement program identifies funds anticipated to be available for interstate, primary and urban highway construction, ports, airports and mass transit for the 1992-93 fiscal year as well as those funds planned for the next five fiscal years through 1997-98.
This public hearing will consider only the interstate, primary and urban systems. Secondary road system projects are considered in separate hearings held annually by the county boards of supervisors and VDOT resident engineers.
