Stonewall-Hawthorn District representative Bob Anderson concurred: “We’ve agreed that Autometric is a better system for other county uses.”
Hampton District representative Mike Massie said, “It’s even better for , E-911. I fought E-911, but if we’re going to do it, let’s do it right."
He noted that the supervisors had originally expected to wait three or four years for E-911. He suggested that they continue with that agreement and wait until the money has been raised through the surcharge to pay for the mapping.
Mr. McCarthy said the surcharge had raised $95,000 through March 1. He said he would negotiate with Autometric about spreading out the payment. The supervisors noted that the Autometric might not hold its bid for more than six months.
At Thursday’s meeting the supervisors also agreed to allow School Superintendent David Gangel to order two new buses. They decided not to contract with an insurance advisor on a yearly basis, but to seek
