W.l. Dodson
Washington Irvin Dodson, 87, of Culpeper, died Monday, March 16 at Piedmont Health Care in Charlottesville.
Mr. Dodson was bom March 30, 1904 in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Wise and Mary Dodson. His wife was the late Ethel Fincham Dodson and he was a retired fanner.
Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor Shore of Charlottesville and Virginia Pullen of Orange; two sons, George W. Dodson of Sterling and Jackie Lee Dodson of Culpeper; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Dodson of Bealeton and two sisters, Lovie Dodson and Vera Partlow, both of Culpeper.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Minnie Jenkins, Jessie Thomas and Maude Weakley and a daughter, Mary Lee Dodson.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 18 at Fairview Cemetery with Henry Crees officiating.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Gathie Fincham
Gathie Reene Fincham, 80, of Flint Hill, died Thursday, March 19 at the Culpeper Health Care Center in Culpeper.
A graveside service was conducted Sunday, March 22 in Flint Hill Cemetery by the Rev. John Pendleton.
Mrs. Fincham was bom Jan. 21, 1912, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Smoot Burke. She was a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, William Oscar Fincham of Charles Town, W.Va.; a daughter, Mary H. Jenkins of Flint Hill; two brothers, Benjamin G. Burke of Phoenix and Andrew L. Burke of Catlett; four half-brothers, Garfield Burke of Huntly, John Burke of Florida, Robert Burke of Washington and William Burke of Winchester; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Cameron, Gary Hart, Charles Jarrell, Donnie Welch, Guy Foster and Henry Beumer.
