Lela Jenkins

Lela W. Jenkins, 84, of Berryville, died Saturday, March 21 at the Winchester Medical Center.

A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, March 24 in Berryville by the Rev. Jerry A. Hanline.

Mrs. Jenkins was bom Dec. 24, 1907, in Rappahannock, the daughter of the late Luther and Homie Fincham. She was a housewife and the wife of the late Silas B. Jenkins.

Surviving are four sons, James Robert Jenkins of Berryville, Mack Lain Jenkins and Norman Lee Jenkins, both of Harpers Ferry, W. Va. and Richard Thomas Jenkins of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; five daughters, Mable Watson Hanline, Jessie C. Hanline and Marie V. Jenkins, all of Berryville, Mary A. Campbell of Winchester and Minnie E. Ashby of Brucetown; 38 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by the Enders Funeral Home in Berryville.

Thurman Jenkins

Thurman Reed “Pete” Jenkins, 67, of Alexandria, died Friday, March 20.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday, March 24 at the Royston Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial was in Marshall Cemetery in Marshall.

Mr. Jenkins was bom in Warren County, the son of the late Henry Harrison and Lillie Burke Jenkins. He was a retired painter.

Surviving are his wife, Edith Rebecca Jenkins; a son, Junior Jenkins of Stephens City; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Cosner and Juanita Nickleson, both of Front Royal; three stepsons, Roy Fewell of Annandale, Robert Fewell and Thomas Fewell, both of Alexandria; a brother, Johnny Jenkins of Washington; a sister, Mary Holt of Falls Church; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
