The newly appointed press secretary to first, lady Laura Bush is one of our own Rappahannock residents, Susan Whitson. If you make your way down Harris Hollow Road you will eventually come to the little log home of Susan and Keir Whitson. Fairly new to the area the Whitsons purchased their house here in July of 2003.
With a job that entails being the day-to-day spokesperson for the first lady, Whitson works with Laura Bush on many different levels, assisting her with social functions, or helping her promote the worthy causes Laura Bush has chosen to advance. Whitson uses Laura Bush’s, “Helping America’s Youth Initiative” as an example of one of the first lady’s projects currently being promoted.
